Southside Concession is Open for Business…7 days a Week

The newest Social Enterprise, Southside Concession, was launched May 2, 2011 and is located in the centre of the City’s beautiful Southside Park.  Park patrons and people working in the downtown core can enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn and on those hot days, ice cream!  In partnership with the City of Woodstock, WDDS pitched the idea of a “healthier concession” doing away with traditional deep fried concession items.  Customers requesting french fries now have the choice of soup, salad or a veggie-dip tray.

Concession workers are responsible for many jobs including customer service, money handling and food service.  Workers have received training in safe food handling and food preparation.  The community has embraced the idea of a “healthier concession” and can now rely on regular hours of operation.

If you’re looking for a nice day to spend with your family, head down to Southside Park where you can enjoy the ducks, nature, and a burger from the concession.

Saturday:  11am – 8pm
Sunday:  12pm – 6pm
